Our first ever live music event, An Afternoon at Calancombe: Listening & Tasting Notes, went down a treat on Saturday 31st August, with friends from near and far joining us for an afternoon in the sunshine.Â
Live music from local band Three's Company was the perfect accompaniment to hand prepared, expertly cooked dishes from our chefs on the Big Green Egg and Ox Grill.Â
The Devon-based band played a selection of songs ranging from Sting to George Ezra - their flair for covering well-known, classic rock songs popular with the crowd.
The outdoor cooking was a highlight, providing another source of entertainment as we watched our chefs cook alfresco, with dishes such as Devon Red Ruby Beef Burgers and King Scallops drizzled in Calancombe Estate Blanc de Noirs.Â
The Darts Farm lamb cutlets, served beside our kitchen garden grown tomatoes and artichoke hearts, and Charred estate-grown Aubergine with bocconcini mozzarella were also popular choices from the exclusive menu.Â
Throughout the afternoon, we also served up many wine flights with guests looking to try a selection of our Devon wines. Of course, being on our Devon vineyard where the wines are both grown and made encouraged diners to sample our range of English wines!
