Sundays are now a whole lot tastier...

Updated: May 9, 2023

We are excited to announce the start of something very, very special. Our talented chefs have created a delicious new Menu du Dimanche for our weekend visitors. Beginning on Easter Sunday this curated menu showcases the best of our fresh home-grown veg, tasty local meats and outstanding fish...

What's your flavour?

Light and bright or gamey and strong? We've created a new rather special Sunday Menu du Jour which offers you a yin and yang of the culinary choices. With two alternatives for every course, you can mix and match to complement your appetite on the day.

If the weather is sunny and warm you may prefer to keep lunch light with lemon-dressed Burrata and fresh local fish washed down with a taste of our special fizz and topped off with a creamy dessert. Or if the skies are stormy, the rich flavours of Duck, Guinea Fowl and Rhubarb tart, perfectly complimented by a few glasses of our sumptuous homebrewed cyder may appeal to your need for something more comforting.

Take a closer look at why our menu is so special...

To start we offer a choice of Smoked Duck with dressed leaves and plum chutney. Or if you prefer something lighter to begin the meal, Burrata with rocket, lemon and walnut oil, both are served with some of Vicky's classic French Baguette (an organic sourdough-based bread) with lashings of butter

Two more choices follow the main course. If you want to continue the light and breezy theme, follow up the Burrata with Pan fried, fillet of Sea Bass with a warm salad of shaved Fennel, Kalamata Olives, Red onion and Capers with a zingy blood orange and sherry vinaigrette

Or switch to the deeper game flavours of Guinea Fowl with truffled mushrooms and fresh spinach. Both of these exquisite dishes are accompanied by Cornish potatoes with chive butter and seasonal Sprouting Broccoli with miso and sesame.

Then to finish the meal perfectly you can go for broke with the tempting Rhubarb and Cardamon Tart, with Orange Zested Creme Fraiche or a couple of boules of our famous home-made Calancombe rich, smooth Ice-cream topped with crunchy Cantuccini Biscuit.

And if you don't want all the treats to end there you can top up your culinary experience for an extra £10 with a selection of local cheeses from our very tempting cheese trolley... Available from April 9th, tables can be booked easily and quickly online...
